The global economy has been severely impacted by the pandemic, culminating in the worst recession since the Great Depression of the 1930s. We are all aware that the containment measures put in place adopted to tackle the Covid-19 health emergency brought activity in the global economy to a ‘sudden stop’ and prompted an unprecedented policy response – in terms of its size, speed, scope, and geographical reach.
